I wanted to start off by apologizing to my readers for not posting. I've been busy, trying to get my numbers up for Edge of Insanity and working on a blog even Twin & I are doing for our main blogs. I hadn't done an event in years and I had forgotten how much work it was. But the event is June 10-19th to commemorate our Mom's birthday. There will be reviews, giveaways, and of course, pictures/stories/Momisms. So head on over to Edge of Insanity or Ramblings of a Chocoholic Witch (or both!) and follow us so you don't miss a thing!
As far as Weekly Magick goes, I am going to start over with Journaling (reposting it for this week) and go from there. I know it seemed as if I didn't care, but I do. I kept forgetting to post/research everytime I got on, and plus my personal life has been really busy. But with temperatures soaring over 100* lately, there is really nothing to do but stay online or read. So I know I will definitely get things done.
But I do need help. I seem to be forgetting things left and right lately (stress?) and I know it isn't helping those who come here to read what I have to say. So if it seems that I am forgetting to post or forgot an important aspect of a post, let me know! Having my fellow Pagans here will be a major help!
So what do ya say we try this Weekly Magick thing again?

Weekly Magick: Journaling
Believe it or not, keep a journal is important for any Wiccan for many, many different reasons! Now, this journal is different from your Book of Shadows. This journal is for personal thoughts, ideas, and just general feelings. In fact, I have several different journals (or folders) for different areas of my life. I have my general journal, with things like how my day went, what I am feeling, what is going on, and things like that. Then I have a health journal for keeping my health problems in check. I have a financial journal to keep my feelings about how things are financially together. I have lots of little ones, like creativity, etc.But I also have records for spells, rituals, and even herbal remedies. During this week, we'll discover how important these journals are.
I don't know about you, but I journaled in middle and high school. In fact, I had an English class where we were required to keep journals on certain topics. It was part of a "Creative Writing" stint, but the classroom enjoyed it so much, the teacher decided to keep doing it. And if we had a spectacular weekend, we were able to "Sound Off" instead of writing about whatever was on the board. I "sounded off" more than I wrote a page or two full of fiction. In high school, we were required to write about Business topics in my Intro to Business class, but because I wasn't interested in business at the time, I decided to write about things that happened that impacted business. I was beginning to learn who I was at the time, and realized that I loved writing more than anything.
Keeping a journal while you walk the path of Wicca is important for that very reason. It helps you develop your closeness with your decisions during your lifetime. You learn a lot about yourself. You also learn a lot about your beliefs.
Not only do you learn, you get a sense of release. If you are angry and afraid you will say something nasty to the person, tell them in your journal. I know I've been so mad that I just wanted to yell at that person. But instead, I wrote it down. I made angry-looking drawings in the margins. I used big letters. I used black pens. I automatically felt a little better.
I am not a psychologist by any means. I am just going by what I have done and what happened. If you feel you have a problem that can't be solved by putting pen to paper or any other form of non-professional remedy, then it might be time to pick up the phone.

Weekly Magick: Tarot-Journaling
Whether it is for you or for someone you read for, keeping your readings together will help you in the long run so you can go back and look at any mistakes you made. If your readee (haha) comes back to give you updates, it will be easier to go back to that date for reference. You can keep track of several ways.
One of the ways I keep a track of a read for personal use is in this form.
Date, Day, Time, Weather, Emotions, Health, and the Spread you use. If you are doing a spread for a month, write it for Week 1, Week 2, etc. The same goes for several months but instead of "weeks", you would substitute that for "month". Beside the week/month/year/day, write the name of the card that was received. Then write the card's meaning below that and the result of what happened during that time.
When writing for a week spread, it is better to write the dates of that week. What I mean is if you are doing a read on October 14th (from one of my own records), next to "Week 1", write October 14-21. That way you know EXACTLY how long it will last for that week so you don't get confused.
For the "result" or what happened during those times, it is better to give details of it all. Even if you dropped a pot of boiling water. You may not notice it now, but it will eventually make sense. The card might not say "Bad day coming", but it is possible.
Another way to keep a tarot journal is to do the same outline above but with a section for notes at the bottom. If cards are repeating themselves in certain reads, you need to go back and think about what it means. Write it at the bottom of each read they occur.
If you are reading for someone, make sure to write any contact information at the top of the sheet in case you need to contact them. Write their emotions as well as yours because they both coincide with how things may come about. If you are feeling negative and so is the person, the meanings of the cards and their result may turn negative. So if something goes wrong, you can go back and see.
As far as health, it is inappropriate to strangers "What is your health like these days?" because it is personal business. Instead, ask how their wellbeing is. Are they usually sick, well, or in-between. Usually one can tell if someone isn't well, so if you are unsure they are telling the truth, write that down. They may not be sure themselves.
If you don't want to write during the read, feel free to have someone write it for you or video tape the reading so you can translate it to paper (or in some cases, hard drives) for your record. Ensure the person that only you will video the video.
If you aren't up for writing a journal, take a video of all readers (personal or otherwise) and just write small notes (like the outlines) and file them on disks.
Either way you journal is up to you. Make sure you are comfortable doing it and enjoy your new experience with tarot cards!

Weekly Magick: Tarot- Spells 1
Tarot decks in spells have been long used ever since the occult have put the 2 together. These 2 spells are just examples of them. One of them I wrote down from a book (long gone) and put it on my BOS and the other is from Everything Under The Moon.
Use these spells only if you need to. Intent will get your further than greed.
To Increase Income
Tools
Green & white candles
A deck of tarot cards
Object that represents your desire
A pen with green ink & paper
When
During the Waxing Moon
The color green is obviously important in money spells. White, however, can also be useful because it represents understanding.
Put your candles at opposite ends of your altar. Between them, place an object that represents your desire to increase your income. From your deck of tarot cards, remove the suit of Pentacles or Coins, which represents money and the Star, and the 9 of Cups. In front of the white candle, place the Ace of Cups; it symbolizes new financial undertakings and opportunities. In front of the green candle, put the 10 of Coins; it is called the "Wall Street and symbolizes financial windfall. In the middle of the two candles, place the 9of Cups- the Wish card- and the Star, which symbolizes success, among other things.
Now light the candles and say:

"The money I spend
or the money I lend
comes back to me
in multiples of three"
Visualize the figure you have in mind and joy it down on the piece of paper. Imagine what you can do with an increase of your income. The more visit you can make your visualization backed with an intense emotion, the faster it will manifest. This ritual can be as short or as long as you can. End the spell by extinguishing the candles.
On the next time, repeat the ritual but with some changes. First, remove the 2 & 5 of Pentacles from your deck. Light your candles. Say the poem then take the remaining cards and place them between the Ace of 10 of Coins, the Wish, and Star card. Visualize, affirm, and then extinguish the candles.
Keep everything else on the altar as it is overnight.
On the 3rd night, light the candles and give thanks for everything you have. Repeat the poem and feel the reality of your income increase taking form around you. Keep saying the poem as long as you need to, as often as you like, even after the increase begins to manifest.

Weekly Magick: Tarot- Spreads
Now that you have picked out a tarot deck (hopefully one with the Minor and Major Arcana), it is time to learn how to use them! There are many spreads that you can do and every spread has a different meaning. We are going to explore some spreads that will be easy to understand and use.
Because the number of cards vary in each layout, the meaning of each card is different. There is no straight answer for what that or this card means in the spread.
One spread I have used many times before is the "Yes/No" spread. First, shuffle the deck. Don't shuffle it like playing cards. To shuffle your cards, place the deck down in front of you on a piece of satin/silk/natural cloth. Cut the deck three times, placing the first cut to the LEFT of where the full deck originally was. Place the second cut to the RIGHT of the where the full deck originally was. In the figure, we are using #1 to represent the full deck, #2 for the first cut, and #3 for the last cut. Take #1 into your hands, placing it on top of #3. Grab all of those cards and place it on top of #1. Do this as many times are you feel necessary.
Ready for the spreads?
One spread I used to use quite a bit was called the "Yes/No" spread. It's a pretty simple spread that you can do to get better acquainted with the feel of your cards. Take half the deck in one hand with the faces facing your palm. Take the other half in your other hand with the faces pointed to that palm. Join them together and shuffle as you would playing cards. Make sure the top card is of the back of the deck. If you see the face of your card, cut the deck in half (without shuffling) and put it on the bottom of the deck.
Ask a yes or no question. Deal 3 cards side by side. If all the cards are reversed, then your answer would be a definite "no". If 2 cards are reversed, your answer is probably "no". If 2 cards are upright, your answer is probably "yes". If all cards are upright, your answer is a definite "yes".
In fact, as I was doing my research, I came across a website that has more exercises concerning this particular spread. You can see it by going here.
Part 2

Another spread I use quite frequently nowadays is called The Celtic Spread. It's fairly easy for beginners but those who are savvy in tarot reading may use other spreads with The Celtic Spread to get a better meaning of the cards. You just basically shuffle cards like we mentioned in the figure. I have included another figure of how to lay the cards for this particular spread. Now, let's explore the cards meaning as far as their placement:
Card 1: The present
Card 2: The immediate challenge facing the querent. You will often pull a difficult card here, which will indicate an obstacle that must be overcome. When you pull a "good" card here, examine it carefully because it will still represent a challenge.
Card 3: Distant past, foundation. This card should indicate the root of the subject matter of the question
Card 4: More recent past, including events. This will indicate events taking place, not necessarily directly connected to the question.
Card 5: The best that can be achieved. This is directly related to the question. Note that this may not necessarily gel against Card 10 - it depends whether you are able to get the best. However, a negative card here probably means that it is worth cutting your losses rather than putting any more effort into the situation.
Card 6: Immediate Future. This indicates events in the next few days or week(s). This reading does not cover months.
Card 7: Factors or inner feelings affecting the situation. Compare this against Card 1 in order to understand underlying forces/trends. If there is conflict between them this tends to indicate that the querent is going in the wrong direction.
Card 8: External influences. People, energies or events which will affect the outcome of the question and are beyond the readers' control.
Card 9: Hopes or fears around the situation. This may produce a card that confuses us badly. Always bear in mind that hopes and fears are closely intertwined, therefore that which we hope for may also be that which we fear, and so may fail to happen. Sometimes it is useful to draw a second card for clarification after the reading has been laid, and to read the two together.
Card 10: Final outcome.
You can find many more spreads online or in books everywhere. Find a spread that you like and practice, practice, practice!

Weekly Magick: Tarot
Welcome to the first week of Weekly Magick! As said in a previous post, this week will be about tarot, starting today with what exactly tarot is.
Now, tarot has different meanings for different people. To some, it can be used to predict the future. For others, it can be a means of finding a solution to a certain problem. Or it can even be a way of figuring out what your week will be like. Finding out what it means to you can be tricky, depending on the type of magick you delve in. Please note that I will not post anything dealing with hostile, black, or agressive magick. I am a firm believer in karma and will not put my readers or others in harm's way.
What is the history behind the tarot? It originally started out a deck with 78 cards, used in the mid-15th century Europe to play card games, like the Italian Tarocchini. By the late 18th century, the tarot found its way into the hands of psychics and occultists alike, who used it for fortune-telling.
No one is 100% sure where the word "tarot" came from, but according to Wikipedia, it came from the Italian word tarocchini, but the origin is unclear. One theory relates the name "tarot" to the Taro River in northern Italy, near Parma; the game seems to have originated in northern Italy, in Milan or Bologna. Of course, there are other theories of where it could have come from. There is also the question of whether the word tarot is related to Harut and Marut, who were mentioned in a short account in the Qur'an. But this has yet to be confirmed.
What uses are there for tarot cards? As I have mentioned before, it has a variety of uses, depending on the person. But tarot cards are widely popular for "fortune-telling". Whether you believe in fortune-telling is a moot point. But it is something that is gaining popularity as many people seek to find some sort of truth in religion. I personally use tarot cards as a means of helping finding a solution to a problem. But you can use the tarot cards for fortune-telling, suggestions, meditation, spells, rituals, or even as an altar tool. Find if they fit into your life and use them accordingly.
Can you really predict the future with tarot cards? I've tried on numerous accounts to use them to find out what my week, month, or year will be like. I had even written the card and its meaning down on paper. But I eventually forget to look it up as time goes by and forget what that week/month/year was like. So it doesn't work for me. It could for some, but be real careful if you go to a reader. Many are scam artists. Not all are but there are quite a bit of people who say they can predict the future with tarot cards just to take your money. Find a reputable reader. Many scam artists don't disclose that they're Pagan or will even go as far as saying that they are Christian readers. Many Pagans are readers and can be the best in the business. Do your homework before deciding to get your "fortune read".
What is included in a deck? As it has been mentioned before, there are 78 cards in a tarot deck. There are 22 Major Arcana without suits: The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress, The Emperor, The Hierophant, The Lovers, The Chariot, Strength, The Hermit, Wheel of Fortune, Justice, The Hanged Man, Death, Temperance, The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon, The Sun, Judgement, The World, and The Fool. The Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards, divided into four suits of 14 cards each; ten numbered cards and four court cards. The court cards are the King, Queen, Knight and Page/Jack, in each of the four tarot suits. The traditional Italian tarot suits are swords, batons/wands, coins and cups; in modern tarot decks, however, the batons suit is often called wands, rods or staves, while the coins suit is often called pentacles or disks.
Picking the Right Deck
If you look at any Pagan shop online, you will see that they offer TONS of tarot decks. It can be a bit confusing. If you're new to tarot, then your best bet would be to get Tarot Kit for Beginners by Janet Berres. When I first started out, that is what I got. It explained everything to me in terms that I could understand. It even has the cards meanings and spreads for beginners. It comes with the deck, book, box, and even a tarot bag to hold the cards.
If you aren't new to tarot but want update your deck with a new one, do your research. Not all decks offer the same meaning or purpose. Some themes (meanings, etc) include dragons, vampires, Merlin, or even 2012 (the whole "end of the world" date). Don't get a deck just because you think it looks cool. It can harbor a new meaning for every card, making you research every card to find its meaning. Unless you are looking for new meanings, find one that suits your current ideas.
You can find tarot cards EVERYWHERE, even on Amazon. Buy from reputable dealers that know what they are doing. If it is a new deck with different cards, make sure to get a booklet for that deck. It'll cut down on searching through the Internet, hoping to find what you need.
You can even ask friends for help. Many Pagans and professional readers will suggest decks/books to help you on your quest. 9 times out of 10, they will recommend the deck they have. That's isn't a bad thing! In fact, if you do happen to purchase the same thing, they can help you get comfortable with the tarot.
Learning the tarot can be scary but thrilling at the same time. As long as you find out how you will use it, you will find that it can be quite an experience!

In fact, starting on Monday, we will be starting with the tarot. We will cover everything from what exactly is tarot, spreads, reads, spells, and other ways to use the cards.
If I can get everything together, we might even feature an interview with a professional tarot reader to help you use your decks!
Here is a schedule of weekly magick:

May 23rd- 29th: Journaling
May 30th- June 5th: Herbalism

*Enter Witty Title Here*
First off, I want to apologize for not posting much. It's been terribly hot the past few days and I feel like it has fried my brain. I try to think of something that would interest my readers, or something that would be beneficial, but I can't come up with anything. I even contemplated reviewing a book (that I read in March) but I figured everyone else had read it and might find it boring.
I have found it difficult to think off things that would keep people coming back to TITW and want to read what I have to say. I realized that they enjoy controversial posts like "Talk to a Pagan" but I want to keep this blog political-free as much as I possibly can. I don't want to flamed or insulted or attacked. Been there, done that, no thank you! I have spent the past few days thinking of what to post, and even considered posting weekly quotes to make people smile. With websites like ThinkExist, I think it would be redundant because they can just go there instead of looking at my little blog.
What I might start doing is offering weekly posts for magick like tarot, spells, rituals, spell-writing, and things like that. There are millions of Wiccans out there looking for spells and other tools like that to add to their BOS. At first, I ditched the idea because I didn't want people stealing what I hold sacred, but then I realized that it can't physically or even magickally (I know, not a word) hurt me because it's just text on a blog no one cares about.
So starting sometime soon, I will start posting spells, correspondences, tarot, numerology... blah blah blah. What kind of things would YOU like to see?

"Out of the Broom Closet"
For those that don't know what it means, "coming out of the broom closet" is a Pagan's way of saying that they no longer want to hide their religion.
Personally, for me, I am halfway in and halfway out. Only one relative knows that I am Pagan, while the rest have no idea. My Mom and Twin are also Pagan, but they don't count. My father, on the other hand, has no clue. He is Christian (or so he says) and while he doesn't even know what Paganism is, I don't want him to push me aside because I don't agree with him on religion.
Coming out of the broom closet can be a scary moment for any Pagan. If you take a look at Paganism's history, you'll see what happens when people find out about "witches". People were burned at the stake, stoned, hung, and who knows what else. It is a delicate subject for anyone, especially for those who aren't educated on it. I have heard of families kicking out members simply because of it.
It is also a personal choice. Not all Pagans are in the broom closet and not all Pagans are out of the broom closet. There are a lot of factors that keep them in or out of the broom closet. In fact, there is a book called Out of the Broom Closet, which I haven't read, but most likely will one of these days. Once I do, I will tell you what I think.
I just wish this world was more accepting of ALL religions (instead of trying to bash each other) because otherwise, some Pagans wouldn't be afraid. I applaud those who have the confidence to step out and say "I'm Pagan and I don't care if you're angry about it". I wish it was like that all over.

Talk to a Pagan
I am writing my own guide on how to talk to us, which is in response to the one that Matt Stone (see previous post) wrote.
DON'T assume we're hard to talk to. If you saw us on the street, you wouldn't even know that we weren't Christian. You would just assume we're a normal, everyday person doing errands. We're not aliens. We're not elves from Ireland. We put one one pants leg at a time.
DO have respect before handing out any religious flyer or going into a theological discussion without asking first. You wouldn't like it if we came up to you, trying to shove pamphlets into your hands, or bashing your religion. We don't care for it either. But if asked nicely, we will most likely want to talk religion with you! We both might learn a few things.
DON'T assume that every Pagan is the same. We all follow a different path and practice in different ways. If you are curious, ask. If you want to know more about their path, 9 times out of 10 someone will gladly let you know.
DO remember that Pagans are not devil-worshipers. Don't say that we will "burn in Hell" because it is VERY offensive. Paganism is a nature-based religion and doing research will show you that we do not believe in the Christian "devil", therefore we don't believe in "Hell". But we won't fault you the first time. We understand that some people don't know about it. How do you think we found out that Paganism existed?
DON'T be afraid to be our friend. We love friends of every religion, and will come to rescue should you need us.
And last but certainly but not least...
DON'T let others persuade you on who to talk to and how to talk to them. Be your own person. You have your own views and ideals, and no one can take that away from you.
See? Pagans aren't bad at all!

How to Talk to Pagans
A couple of days ago, a man by the name of Matt Stone posted on his blog, a "guideline" if you will, of how to talk to Pagans. I kid you not.
While I am sure he was trying to write it with the best of intentions, he failed. He even starts the post with "I am often amazed when Evangelicals find it so amazing that I converse so readily and easily with Pagans.". Seriously? What are we, aliens or another life force that sends non-Pagans shooting for cover? There is no difference between you and me. We eat. We sleep. We use the bathroom. The only difference would be our religion.
As the article goes on, he makes it sound condescending for us Pagans. You might as well change the title to "How to Talk to Kindergartners". It makes us out to be rudimentary at best, when in reality, some Pagans can quote the Christian Bible more than some Christians. Now, I am not insulting anyone. I am one of those that can't quote the Christian Bible, but don't get me wrong, I do know quite a bit of Christian history. I did work in a church after all.
Which brings me to another area. You could also change the title to "How to Convert a Pagan". If you want to talk religion with me, that's fine. Ask first because I may not be up to it. But just don't go around, telling me how Christianity has changed your life and how much better your life is because of it. It's insulting and insinuating that my life isn't great because I'm Pagan.
Pagans aren't weird little purple people running around. We're normal, like you. We go to the store. We have pets. We even pay bills. So unless you plan on approaching us like a human, don't bother.
Maybe I should come up with a way to talk to Pagans. What's better than written BY A PAGAN?

Destiny: Book Review
Please note that I did not receive this book to review. I won it in a giveaway provided by the author. This review is my own personal opinions and was not compensated in any way for my thoughts. MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS, THOUGH I'LL TRY TO KEEP FROM IT.
Author: Laura DeLuca
SUMMARY FreeFocusPublishing: Gabriella is a witch. The problem is, she doesn't remember. She repressed the memories of her powers years ago when her mother was murdered. Now, the warlock who was responsible for her mother's death has set his sights on Gabriella. He is determined to use her fear to turn her to the dark side of magick…even if it kills her. Her mother's spirit is reaching out to warn her, but even that she pushes away. Desperate to save her daughter, the spirit finds a male witch–one that just happens to be in love with Gabriella. Darron is more than willing to help but the two young witches will have way more to battle than just an evil warlock. There are overbearing jocks and petty rich girls who get tempers flaring and often set Gabrielle and Darron at odds.
There is more to the story than Gabrielle and Darron could even imagine. There are terrible secrets to be revealed, battles to be waged, and lives will be lost. Only after Gabrielle and Darron both come to terms with who they really are, and open themselves up to the true meaning of magick, can they have any hope of fulfilling their destiny.
THOUGHTS: When I read the review on the author's website, I knew I had to enter the giveaway she was holding. I've had trouble finding new books that offer different views of Wicca through fiction. I've read Cate Tiernan but after reading "Balefire", I was still left with plenty of questions instead of answers. So when I heard I had won the giveaway, I was delighted! I couldn't contain my excitement over the idea of the book. Having studied Wicca for over 6 years, I knew I was in for a treat. After reading it, I have passed it on to my Wiccan twin sister!
Gabriella, whose mother was murdered, must embrace her magick that she feared in order to save herself and her friends' lives. Along comes Darron, another witch, who has been in love with Gabriella for as long as he can remember. They need to get together and combine what they know in order to fight whatever is keeping them from completely opening themselves up to each other and the magick within. Battles are many, lives are lost, and tears are shed. I thought the characters had lots of... character! I could see myself being like Gabriella, afraid of the power but knowing I have to embrace it. Eventually, all you need is love. Love conquers all. As far as the magick goes, I wish some of that happened in real life! A lot of the rituals and meditation that goes on in the story is real and can be obtained. If you're Wiccan, you must read this story to get a deeper sense of self gratitude for what you are. Read it even if you aren't Wiccan. You will still get a lot of lessons out of it!

Beltane gift or not?
Beltane is coming up for us Pagans on May 1st. It i incorporates traditions from the Gaelic Bealtaine, such as the bonfire, but it bears more relation to the Germanic May Day festival, both in its significance (focusing on fertility) and its rituals (such as May pole dancing). Beltane has long been celebrated with feasts and rituals. The name means fire of Bel; Belinos being one name for the Sun God, whose coronation feast we now celebrate. As summer begins, weather becomes warmer, and the plant world blossoms, an exuberant mood prevails. In old Celtic traditions it was a time of unabashed sexuality and promiscuity where marriages of a year and a day could be undertaken but it is rarely observed in that manner in modern times.
I have noticed that people have been asking around the Internet if you give someone a gift on Beltane like you do for Ostara. This could be a touchy subject for some. Not all Pagans celebrate Beltane, even though it is one of the major 8 sabbats. If fact, not all Pagans celebrate any of the sabbats. It depends on the person. You don't want to offend a them, especially if their views are grossly different than yours.
If you are 100% sure, then sure, give them a gift if you feel the need. But on Beltane, a gift isn't necessary. If you want to include them in your celebrations, ask them to join in your ritual. One thing I do warn is make sure that you are close to them as a Beltane ritual can be pretty intimate. If you're not close to them but still want them to be part of your Beltane, make a donation to their favorite charity. This way you are not making them uncomfortable in any way and you are helping the world.
If they don't mind receiving a gift but don't know what to get them, do a search for Beltane gifts and find the one that fits them most, not one you "think" they'll like.

AzureGreen
I live in an area that does not allow metaphysical shops because of the high Christian following. Mind you, I have no problem with that because I don't put that I'm Pagan out into the public and have many Christian friends. But shopping for my items makes it difficult because of the fact there aren't any shops around.
But a couple of years ago, I found this store online and have been using them ever since! AzureGreen seems to be my one-stop shopping for anything I need! They have everything from jewelry to candles to even "specialty" ritual items! But they don't carry just one style of a specific item. In fact, they have thousands! If you request a catalog, you will see that it can be over 100 pages long! I don't know if they still do this, but when you order through their catalog, you get your choice of a free bumper sticker! You get to choose 2 styles, and they will mail your 1st choice (or 2nd if the 1st isn't available) absolutely free!

AzureGreen started in 1985 as a small metaphysical shop in Massachusetts, but has evolved to a mail-order and internet-based business based in the basement of its owners and since evolved into one of the largest distributor of magickal, spiritual, and occult products!
You can order through their catalog or online. They even accept PayPal, where many occult shops only accept major credit cards.
You can check out their blog at All Paths to the Divine or find them on Facebook!

Genie of Dreams
I regularly take naps during the afternoon so I figured this nap would be no different. I would dream of something that would make sense and I would be able to interpret it like any other day. Unfortunately, this was not the case. While I don't remember every single little detail, I'll try my best. Here is how my dream played out:
It all started when I was driving along Indian Springs Park (a park in my area). For some reason (every single detail), I started driving like a maniac. I was speeding, driving fast, trying not to hit people. I found my way home and went to bed. The next morning, my Mom asks me to drive my Dad to the smoke shop to get some cigarettes. A guy came out of the store, and was staring at me the whole time he got into his car. Normally, a look or two would make me feel good about myself. But this guy just creeped me out. The minute Dad came out, I told him to get in the car as fast as he can. I pulled out of the parking lot and the guy followed. I knew he was going to follow me wherever I went so I kept driving, speeding through yellow lights to make him stop at red lights. I finally lost him, so I thought. So I dropped Dad off at home and went to this place my ex-boyfriend (who used to be my boyfriend in real life years ago) used to frequent. A friend of his dialed a number and within minutes, my ex-boyfriend showed up. I told him everything that happened. He called my Mom and she told him to come home with me just in case. When we got home, I fainted even before I got out of the car. When I came to, I was in bed with my ex sitting beside me. After a few minutes of talking (every single detail), he told me he was a genie. Not a genie that granted wishes or anything. He lived in a bottle and could appear/disappear at the drop of a hat.
Later that evening, I was taking him home when the creepy guy starting chasing us again. We got back to the place I picked him up from, and come to find out, one of the doctors (I am guessing it was some sort of clinic) was part of a team with the creepy guy. The creepy guy grabbed me and pushed me behind him. And all 3 started fighting over me, ex included.
Then I woke up. I've dreamed of vampires after reading a vamp book or witches after a day of writing Wicca stuff. But never genies! Anyone have any idea on what this could mean?

Being Pagan in Today's World
Most of the time, I have no problem saying that I am Pagan. Well, online, that is. It seems as if most people online are accepting of different religions because they don't have to face them in real life. But out in the real world at a public place, I have to keep my true religion a secret. It's not easy. And yes, it is really uncomfortable.
Being Pagan in the year 2011 has more stigma attached to it than before. With everything happening in the world, more people want to try to convert non-Christians because they believe it will change the world. I personally believe that religion has nothing to do with it. Humans have become more volatile than in recent years. But yet, we blame religion.
Being Pagan in the year 2011 makes it harder to purchase things online or even at a New Age store without people leering at you, mocking you. You can wear all black or pentacles without people thinking you worship the devil. Family members have no idea about your true identity because it would be splitting hairs to "come out of the broom closet". Mine is somewhat locked from my relatives.
I personally believe that all who think Paganism is devil-worshiping need to do more research. They will find that we do not believe in the Devil, Hell, or even the Christian God.That's the case with a lot of other religions. They have different beliefs. If we all learned a little about each other, religion won't even be a problem. Only clashes of personality. After that, the world might be a better place.

Researching Sabbats
The following information is mostly for those who are new to the Craft, and want to learn a little more than what is stated in books. Most Wiccans/Pagans who have been practicing for a while know to research Sabbats to understand the Holiday more.
Now why would you want to research a Sabbat when the book has so much information? The answer? It will help you celebrate it to the fullest extent. In fact, I own Witch's Halloween by Gerina Dunwich. It is chock full of information for things like symbols, spells, divination, history, and even recipes for Samhain. Learning all of that helped me celebrate it instead of commercialized decorations. I was able to find out why the bat was part of it or how trick 'or' treating came about.
How does this make me a better Pagan? You gain more knowledge that will help you as go down the Paganism path. You learn things you never knew! Like did you know that Beltane actually started in medieval Ireland? If you have Irish ancestry (like me), you get to actually see where it all started.
How does one start researching the Sabbats? I personally started on my favorite, Samhain. Research all the history you can. Want to know where the Yule Log came from? Google it. Go to your local library and look in their books. Buy books if you need to. If you have Pagan relatives or even Pagan friends, ask them if they know anything. More than likely, they will have something that can be of use to you. Keep a bibliography of where you get everything. If you get it from someone, write their name down to give them credit. Make sure you write everything down. Don't just keep it on the computer. If you lose your computer, you have lost all of your research and have to start from scratch. I keep all my Sabbat information in a binder that is part of my Book of Shadows (BOS). I have them categorized as they fall on the calender that way I can find them a lot easier. But do what makes sense to you.
You can also search for Sabbat crafts, recipes, and ways to celebrate to add to your list.
Here are some websites that have information on the Sabbats:
The Pagan Library
The Celtic Connection
Wikipedia- Wheel of the Year (has links to the Sabbats themselves)
The Meditative Cat (once you get past the small amount of info, there is a list of books on the Sabbats)

Construct Your Inner Altar
Some Wiccans have an inner altar (like me) while some do not. Some don't want it and some don't know how to do it. So this may help!
The first step you need to do is center and ground yourself. Once you get used to visiting it, you won't have to center and ground every single time (unless you want to, of course). Do the square breathing and all your heart rate to slow a little bit. Make sure to clear your mind, otherwise it won't work or you won't get all the information you need.
Imagine you are walking on a paved road. You eventually come to a fork in the road, one going east, one going west, and one going straight. These represent the North, East, and West. Since each one is associated with an element, take the road that is associated with your element.
After a little while, you finally come up on your building that contains your altar and meditation area. It will vary from person to person, depending on your element and what makes you comfortable. While my element is Water, my altar is out in the country somewhere with just a shed to house my altar. Walk in and observe your surroundings. Make sure you know where everything is and you will see that everything you need, including your Book of Shadows, are already there and ready for us. It may not look like your altar at home, but then it again, it is possible.
Now, don't do any magick this time. It is just to get you accustomed to the inner altar Feel the floor through your feet. Feel the air. Touch the altar and tools. Stay as long as you want. When you are ready to leave, walk out the door and face it. Draw a purple pentacle with your hand over the door to protect and lock it. If it is out in the country, just draw a purple circle around the area. Walk back the same way you came.
You have now constructed your inner altar! You may have to center and ground once or twice more until you are used to visiting the altar and then, you don't have to ground unless you want to.

A Wal-Mart Morning
Now, I am not one to do spells in public, especially in a place like Wal-Mart. But every other Friday, my Mom, twin, and I head out to Wal-Mart after taking Dad to work (at 6 in the freakin' morning) so we can get groceries since we usually have other things to do during the day. In fact, I pride myself in knowing exactly which isle to do down to find that box of cereal or bag of pizza rolls. So I volunteered (along with Twin, though she didn't know it at the time) to get the things from the Pharmacy end since it was such a long way for Mom to go to. I knew where everything was. Or so I thought.
I had to get motion sickness pills and figured they would be in the aisle with the Maalox, but I was wrong. I even went down the laxative isle, just looking for it. I gave up, and got the other things and sat down next to Twin. After 10 minutes of trying to figure it out, Twin got up to look. She couldn't find it either. So I decided to do a spell that I had used many times at home and was successful. But I was wary to do it in Wal-Mart. Not because of the Wiccan stigma in public, but because it would have looked weird the way I have to do it. Twin said "Why don't you make it look like you're resting your head on your hand?". Brilliant idea! So I did the spell (which, luckily, doesn't include ANY chants or anything) and looked around afterward to see if anyone was around. The good thing about Wal-Mart at the crack of dawn is that it is almost like a ghost town except for a few morning people who want to get their shopping done like us.
Not 10 minutes later, Mom came down the isle and went right to the Cold/Flu aisle. I was perplexed because I never heard of motion sickness medicine being next to the NyQuil! I am SO glad I did the spell. Otherwise, I would have never known to look in that area.
So now I have a question for you: Would you ever do a small spell in a public place (it doesn't have to be Wal-Mart) if you needed do it for something like remembering where you parked or finding that one shirt you saw yesterday?
